Plastic

In plastics, AIHAI’s high-quality, carefully selected talc products are widely used to improve the mechanical properties of thermoplastics, mainly polypropylene but also polyethylene and polyamide (nylon). The main applications are automotive parts (bumpers, dashboards, etc.), household appliances and packaging. Si-containing minerals, such as talc, reduce the transmission of infrared and ultraviolet radiation and contribute to the anti-ageing properties of plastic products.

To achieve good reinforcement and ensure the right balance between stiffness and impact resistance, AIHAI uses advanced milling technology to retain highly lamellar but very fine talc particles to meet industry requirements.

High-purity, highly lamellar micronised talc improves the performance of plastic compounds. The particle size distribution of talc and the way it disperses in the matrix are directly related to the impact resistance of talc-reinforced plastics. In PP pipes, talc AIHAI increases stiffness, creep resistance and impact strength. This makes PP/talc the environmentally friendly alternative to PVC. In motor vehicles, AIHAI talc in polymer compounds stabilises bumpers and makes dashboards more resistant to scratches.

Main features:

  • Anti-ageing
  • Heat insulation, resistance and more even heat distribution in the compound
  • Nucleating agent
  • Dimensional stability due to increased stiffness.

With MICROSTONE fillers from high-purity SH minerals, we offer our customers products with very low abrasiveness and a significantly lower tendency to plating. Good dispersibility and good flow behaviour allow for optimised processing and high filler levels in our customers’ finished products. In addition, the bright white GEOCAL grades from the Ore Mountains offer the possibility of producing coloured or white plastic compounds.

Aimed at the landscape of PVC, PU or TPE manufacturers, MICROSTONE grades will protect extruders and other tools.
