Ceramic and coloured sands

Dorfner was the first in the late 1960s and is currently the leading producer of coloured quartz sands in Europe: the only producer of ceramic coloured sands. Over the 40 years of production experience, the products called Granucol have become a numerous series of different types developed for specific needs in the various application sectors.

GRANUCOL® SIG – Ceramic quartz
GRANUCOL SIG the series of products named with this acronym represents the series of quartzes covered in a silicate glazing process with UV resistant pigments. Available in 5 standard grain sizes and about 200 colours from inorganic pigments.

GRANUCOL® DURA – GRANUCOL INFILL – Specific ceramic quartzes for synthetic grass infill
GRANUCOL DURA and INFILL have been developed specifically for synthetic turf surfaces. Covered in a silicate glazing process with UV resistant pigments and high abrasion resistance.

GRANUCOL® KG – Coloured sands
GRANUCOL KG® the colouring of the monocrystalline sands in this series is applied with the use of organic binders and both organic and inorganic colours. Granucol KG are compatible with solvent-based and water-based binders, very resistant to acid attacks and UV rays. Available in 9 standard grain sizes and about 2000 colours.

GRANUCOL® MIX – Coloured quartz sand mixes
Standard formulations of mixes of different colours complete the offer for resin floor applicators. 5 standard mixes are available in 2 particle sizes 0.6-1.2 mm and 0.3-0.8 mm. Custom mixes adapted to customer needs are also possible.

GRANUCOL® CONDUCT – Conductive coloured sand
GRANUCOL CONDUCT® is a coloured quartz with high electrical conductivity particularly suitable for the formulation of antistatic flooring. Available in 4 different grain sizes and in 2 colours, black and grey.

GRANUCOL SIG/SIL® – Coloured quartz sand
GRANUCOL SIG/SIL® in addition to the colouring with silicate, the surface of the coloured sand is treated with a silanisation process to ensure better adhesion between the granule and the organic binder. This variant is used in composite materials, such as kitchen countertops and sinks. Available in 5 standard grain sizes and about 200 colours from inorganic pigments.
